37.161
surah 37 - verse 161

| Arberry | But as for you, and that you serve, |
| Maududi | So you and your deities |
| Pickthall | Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, |
| Sahih | So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, |
| Yusuf Ali | For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- |

| Maududi | But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). |
| Pickthall | Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. |
| Sahih | But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. |
| Yusuf Ali | But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! |

| Arberry | When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! |
| Maududi | When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. |
| Pickthall | But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. |
| Sahih | But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. |
| Yusuf Ali | But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! |

| Sahih | Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. |
| Yusuf Ali | Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! |
