Sahih | When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." |
Yusuf Ali | When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" |
83.14
surah 83 - verse 14

Arberry | No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. |
Maududi | No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. |
Pickthall | Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. |
Sahih | No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. |
Yusuf Ali | By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! |
83.15
surah 83 - verse 15

Maududi | No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, |
Pickthall | Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. |
Sahih | No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. |
Yusuf Ali | Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. |

Yusuf Ali | Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! |
