72.21
surah 72 - verse 21

Arberry | Say: 'Surely I possess no power over you, either for hurt or for rectitude.' |
Maududi | Say: “Surely neither it is in my power to hurt you nor to bring you to the Right Way.” |
Pickthall | Say: Lo! I control not hurt nor benefit for you. |
Sahih | Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction." |
Yusuf Ali | Say: "It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to right conduct." |

Sahih | Say, "Indeed, there will never protect me from Allah anyone [if I should disobey], nor will I find in other than Him a refuge. |
Yusuf Ali | Say: "No one can deliver me from Allah (If I were to disobey Him), nor should I find refuge except in Him, |

Arberry | excepting a Deliverance from God and His Messages. And whoso rebels against God and His messenger, for him there awaits the Fire of Gehenna; therein they shall dwell forever.' |
Maududi | (My task is no more than) to deliver Allah's proclamation and His messages. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, surely the Fire of Hell awaits him; therein he will abide in perpetuity.” |
Pickthall | (Mine is) but conveyance (of the Truth) from Allah, and His messages; and whoso disobeyeth Allah and His messenger, lo! his is fire of hell, wherein such dwell for ever. |
Sahih | But [I have for you] only notification from Allah, and His messages." And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger - then indeed, for him is the fire of Hell; they will abide therein forever. |
Yusuf Ali | "Unless I proclaim what I receive from Allah and His Messages: for any that disobey Allah and His Messenger,- for them is Hell: they shall dwell therein for ever." |
72.24
surah 72 - verse 24

Arberry | Until, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know who is weaker in helpers and fewer in numbers. |
Maududi | (They shall not change their ways) until they see that against which they had been warned, and then they will know whose helpers are weaker and whose supporters are fewer in number. |
Pickthall | Till (the day) when they shall behold that which they are promised (they may doubt); but then they will know (for certain) who is weaker in allies and less in multitude. |
Sahih | [The disbelievers continue] until, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know who is weaker in helpers and less in number. |
Yusuf Ali | At length, when they see (with their own eyes) that which they are promised,- then will they know who it is that is weakest in (his) helper and least important in point of numbers. |

Arberry | Say: 'I do not know whether that which you are promised is nigh, or whether my Lord will appoint for it a space; |
Maududi | Say: “I know not whether what you are promised is near or whether my Lord will prolong its term. |
Pickthall | Say (O Muhammad, unto the disbelievers): I know not whether that which ye are promised is nigh, or if my Lord hath set a distant term for it. |
Sahih | Say, "I do not know if what you are promised is near or if my Lord will grant for it a [long] period." |
Yusuf Ali | Say: "I know not whether the (Punishment) which ye are promised is near, or whether my Lord will appoint for it a distant term. |

Sahih | Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before each messenger and behind him observers |

Arberry | that He may know they have delivered the Messages of their Lord; and He encompasses all that is with them, and He has numbered everything in numbers.' |
Maududi | so that He may know that they have delivered the messages of their Lord. He encompasses in His knowledge their surroundings and keeps a count of all things.” |
Pickthall | That He may know that they have indeed conveyed the messages of their Lord. He surroundeth all their doings, and He keepeth count of all things. |
Sahih | That he may know that they have conveyed the messages of their Lord; and He has encompassed whatever is with them and has enumerated all things in number. |
Yusuf Ali | "That He may know that they have (truly) brought and delivered the Messages of their Lord: and He surrounds (all the mysteries) that are with them, and takes account of every single thing." |
